- 2013 The Bishop Edwin B. Broderick Award for teaching excellence, The Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany Office of Catechesis, Evangelization and Family Life
- 2011 Berakah Award. The highest honor given by the interfaith membership of the North American Academy of Liturgy for scholarship and practice. Awarded in San Francisco, CA January 2011.
- 2007 First Place Award for a book on liturgy, God’s House Is Our House: Re-imagining the Environment for Worship from the Catholic Press Association of the United States and Canada.
- 2005 Elected as an Honorary Member of the American Institute of Architects.
- 2005 Recipient of the Steffler Award in Design from Christians in the Visual Arts.
- 2003 Georgetown Center for Liturgy Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Liturgical Life of the Church in America, Washington, DC
- 1994 Elbert Conover Award from the Interfaith Forum on Religion Art and Architecture for contributions to the field of religious architecture.
